Why didn't my cash symbols pay? Check the collector rule
A cash value may still need a collector before it pays. See how the current mode, collector position and symbol lifetime change the answer.
In this article
A cash amount on a symbol can show a prize that still needs to be collected. If the rules require an eligible collector on that spin, the cash symbols alone do not complete the collection. Which collector qualifies can depend on its position and the game mode.
This guide covers collect-style features, using Grosvenor’s Football Cash Collect rules as one documented example. The operator’s page lists Great Britain and Gibraltar licensing. It does not establish a current U.S. game’s rules or availability. No game was played for this guide.
Which symbol completes the collection?
The page’s Cash Collect section requires a collector and a coin on the same spin. In the main game, the collector lands on reel 5; the coin can appear anywhere on the reels. A cash value elsewhere on the screen does not remove that collector condition.
It also distinguishes three kinds of coin: a Cash Prize symbol, a Free Games symbol and a Diamond symbol. They do different jobs when collected. A free-games award is not a cash amount to add to the payout, and the Diamond symbol follows its own prize rule.
First identify the symbol’s role, rather than treating every special symbol as money already paid. Our wilds, scatters and bonus-trigger guide explains why similar-looking symbols can have different qualifying conditions.
Position and lifetime change in Free Games
In the same documented game, collectors can appear on any reel during Free Games. A collector stays in its row and moves one reel left each spin until it exits.
The Free Games section says each collector on the reels collects the new Cash Prize, Diamond or Free Games symbols. A collector can therefore remain in the feature while new coins arrive; do not assume it must newly land every time a collection occurs.
These are rules for that named example, not a promise that every collector moves, stays or collects the same area. Use the rule for the mode you are actually in.
What if more than one collector is eligible?
The Football Cash Collect page says the respective award is paid once for each collector on the reels during Free Games. Counting the eligible collectors can therefore matter as well as adding the coin values.
Here is a hypothetical teaching example, not that game’s paytable or a played round. Three cash symbols show $0.40, $0.60 and $1.00. Assume a fictional rule under which each eligible collector awards all three values once. There are no multipliers, Diamond prizes, free-game awards or other changes.
| Eligible collectors | Cash values shown | Cash-symbol award |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | $2.00 | $0.00 |
| 1 | $2.00 | $2.00 |
| 2 | $2.00 | $4.00 |
The available values total $0.40 + $0.60 + $1.00 = $2.00. One collector awards that $2.00 once; two award 2 × $2.00 = $4.00 under the stated fictional rule.
These rows are alternative snapshots, not consecutive spins. No symbol carries from one row into another. A $0.00 cash-symbol award also does not say that the entire spin paid nothing: other combinations have their own rules. None of these amounts is a net-profit calculation.
Do uncollected values stay for the next spin?
The named page says the coin symbols reset when a new spin begins. You cannot treat an uncollected display as a saved balance on that evidence.
During Free Games, its collector symbols can remain and move left. That does not make the old coin values persistent too. Keep the lifetime of the collector separate from the lifetime of the symbols it collects.
Other features expressly retain prize values. The Hold and Spin guide covers that different task, including cases where collection changes the occupied positions while preserving their combined value.
If the completed award still looks wrong
Match the exact title and mode, then check which collectors were eligible, which symbols they could collect and what the completed payout actually included. An animation showing a number is not enough to settle those questions.
The paytable guide can help distinguish displayed units and settled awards. If the matching rule still conflicts with the completed result, keep the rule and round reference if available and ask the operator to investigate.
The Grosvenor page directs readers to the in-game help for ordinary symbols and base-game instructions. Its feature description is not a complete paytable, and this guide does not supply missing symbol values, collection probabilities or current U.S. settings.
